Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch

Philippines

Mission:

To end the cycle of poverty and abuse in girls’ families through evangelism and education by providing a residential aftercare program for girls rescued from sex trafficking, abuse, and exploitation.

Happy Horizons is a restorative home for children (mostly girls) rescued from sexual exploitation and trafficking. The main campus, “the Ranch”, receives and cares for victims ranging from three to 18 years old. For these children, holistic care includes an individualized on-campus education plan and schooling with the gentle, invested care of counselors, caseworkers, caregivers, and even legal representatives. When the children reach 18 years of age, they transition to the “Happy House,” where they finish high school in the city, go to college or get vocational training, and learn skills for living independently and reintegrating into society. Happy Horizons began in 1994 with five little girls. Today, at any given time, it is restoring the lives of 50–65 children.

Target for 2024: $30,003

Breakdown: 60 children × $1.37/day to help with basic expenses = $30,003

Additional Details: Rescuing someone is often an event. But restoration usually is a long process that requires commitment, patience, love, and collaboration. To that end, Happy Horizons partners with the International Justice Mission, the Department of Social Welfare of the Philippines, One Child, Convoy of Hope, Project Rescue, Asia’s Little Ones, and the local church.

“You will restore me to life again and lift me up.”
