Abandoned Child Finds Hidden Treasure
NIAS, INDONESIA | A child, abandoned by family and passed from home to home, has uncovered a rare gift for music. After finding a safe, stable, and loving home at Eben Haezer orphanage at the age of 5, Fernis discovered a deep love for and enjoyment of music. For the first time, she was given an opportunity to try playing an instrument — and she was good! Now 15, Fernis plays multiple instruments and generously shares her treasure with others. She plays keyboard and guitar on the worship team at church. She also teaches other kids at the orphanage how to play.
God has helped Fernis find the treasure He buried deep within the child others valued so little that they threw her away. With the love and support of the orphanage and generous friends like you, a joyful song was born in Fernis’ heart — along with a new dream.
